Bridgestone Arena

Feb 25

Bridgestone Arena is the home of the NHL’s Nashville Predators, a team with a solid recent history of success. We attended an early evening Saturday hockey game against the Washington Capitals, the team with the best record in the NHL. Given the time of the game and the opponent, we expected a large crowd. Although paid attendance was a sellout, it never really looked like the place filled in.

AT&T Stadium – Dallas, TX

Nov 08

My brother and I visited AT&T Stadium to watch our Philadelphia Eagles take on the home team Dallas Cowboys. I’ll start by saying the stadium is quite amazing. Joe Louis Arena

Nov 16

We are Capitals fans and travel to see them play when we can. Normally, since we are fans of the visiting team, we are surrounded by home fans who are cheering for the other team but they have always been nice to us at all the stadiums we’ve visited. Except Detroit.

My husband and I always purchase Diamond Club tickets at every baseball game we go to. These are the seats that are right behind home plate and usually they include entry to a very nice, private lounge area with a buffet, a bar, nice bathrooms, and easy access to the Diamond Club seats. During the game, servers bring you anything you want to eat and drink, free of charge. Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and so many other baseball stadiums know how to treat their big spenders, so I was rather surprised that Citizens Bank Park does none of this.

Nationwide Arena

Jan 23

We attended the New Year’s Eve hockey game at Nationwide Arena and had a great time.  My husband said it was a very nice arena compared to others he’s seen.

To begin with, it was easy to get to.  We stayed at a hotel that was very convenient to the arena. You can read a review about that hotel here. Also, across the street from the hotel we stayed at was a Hyatt and Drury Inn. Although it was after dark, walking the 2 blocks to and from the arena never felt unsafe because there was a large crowd of hockey fans walking together.
