Waikiki Beach

Mar 27

I found this beach to be one of the nicer beaches I’ve seen in my life.  The sand was soft, the water was clear, and the entire area appeared very clean.  Certain portions of the beach had a protective barrier which made us feel safe since we didn’t have to worry about sharks.  There were so many senior citizens on the beach that I felt I was at a retirement community but overall the beach was not excessively crowded and all along the beach there were lots of tourist activities like surfing classes, dinner cruises, and boat rides.

Waikiki BeachNot once did I see a homeless person sleeping on the beach.  It was also perfectly safe and I never worried about my personal belongings being stolen when I went in the water.  I think it’s a nice beach to visit but if you are more interested in a very quiet and peaceful beach, Waikiki might not be for you.  There were lots of families with kids, groups of senior citizens that sat around and chatted, and overall it was a very lively and social scene.

I enjoyed visiting but if you are on the island and are looking for a less touristy and less crowded place, try Ko Olina Beach.
