Having been built in the 60’s, the resort is old but you wouldn’t know it to look at the place. The property is well cared for and appears new. The hotel lobby is an impressive sight and the check in process is top notch. You can help yourself to complimentary fruit and beverages while you sit in a cushy chair and are checked in by employees who excel in customer service.
Even though the staff explains how to find your room, it is still easy to get lost as there aren’t many signs to direct you and there are so many different paths and stairways inside the lobby. Once outside, there are even more pathways. After asking a staff member for help, we found the area our room was located in. Adjacent to the pool and with a fabulous view of the golf course are the premier mountain vista rooms.
We stayed here for 3 nights in either room 123 or 125 (I can’t remember exactly) on the ground floor. With 675 square feet of space, we had plenty of room and felt perfectly at home. We saw none of the usual wear and tear of other hotels. Everything was fresh and new. The front of our room was a foyer with hard wood floors and off to the side was a large walk in closet and a secondary sink which my husband used as his own.

As part of the romance package, we had access to the breakfast buffet which was offered during the weekend. In the corner was a friendly chef who made eggs, waffles, and pancakes any way we wanted them while we sat and chatted with him. As mentioned previously, there weren’t any signs anywhere and the restaurant was hard to locate.
During the week, the breakfast buffet wasn’t being offered but we were allowed to order anything we wanted from the menu. Portions were huge.
One night we ordered room service. About an hour later our food arrived and the pizza was decent and very filling and the Cobb salad was massive. Also, as a part of our romance package, we could select a beverage that we wanted delivered to our room any time each day. Unfortunately, our mini fridge didn’t work so we were unable to keep our drinks chilled.
We mostly saw couples at the resort but a few families were always at the pool which was clean and even had a bar with misters to keep you cool. The outdoor fire pits that burned at night were a nice touch and there was also a gym and tennis courts.
I really liked the feel of the resort. It was romantic and honeymoon-ish. Besides being awoken early everyday from the golf carts speeding over the speed bump outside our window, we truly enjoyed our stay.
