Hilton Orlando

The hotel is in the ideal location for visiting all the popular attractions Orlando has to offer. It’s about 15 minutes from the airport and is close to the highway so it’s easy on and off.  Also, it’s only a 15-20 minute drive to Disney World and just down the street you’ll find Universal and the Orange County Convention Center. The immediate area surrounding the hotel is well maintained and appears upper class so safety is not an issue and if you get hungry, across the street from the hotel there’s a McDonald’s, Denny‘s, IHOP, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, and lots of other restaurants.

Don’t pay for valet unless you really need to. Valet is $18 per day but self-park is only $12 and is so simple. When you first arrive, drive up to the entrance and the valet man will tell you how to get to the self-park area. Once you park, the lobby is only a few steps away. It’s as easy as can be and there’s no waiting around for someone to go fetch your car when you need it which is important considering that if you are staying in Orlando, you’ll probably be coming and going a lot. Plus, you won’t have to tip anyone.

We had a king room and thought it was spacious, decorated very nicely, exceptionally clean, and had a comfortable bed. We liked the large, flat screen TV that had a lot of HD channels. The internet was $15 for 24 hours and worked well however, these days hotels really shouldn’t be charging for internet access.

The pool area was like a tropical escape and was more than just a place to swim.  It included a family pool which was swarming with children so we stayed away from that, and a quiet pool which was only called “quiet” because there was no music playing there. Thankfully, most parents were kind enough to keep their kids away from this pool. They even had a lazy river which circled around the main pool. Behind the main pool was a basketball court, tennis court, volleyball court, and mini golf which were all free. There were also some fire pits that are turned on at night and were surrounded by comfortable chairs. And if you’re interested, you can buy a s’mores kit right there. Overall, the outdoor area was beautiful, squeaky clean, and we had a lot of fun.

The only aspects of the hotel that we didn’t care for were that whenever someone was in the hallway outside our room we could hear everything, the curtains in our room were difficult to open, and also that the room didn’t have a little fridge.  But the excellent and convenient location really made up for it.
