Cravings Buffet – The Mirage

This has become our favorite Las Vegas buffet not only because it is located in our favorite hotel on the strip, but also because there is such a wide variety of fresh and tasty food. It has enough options for my picky, texture-eater husband who has an infinite list of things he will NOT eat, and enough options for me who has severe IBS.

During lunch and dinner times, the line to get in can be lengthy but if you sign up for an Mlife card and are a Pearl member or higher, you can get into the short line that usually has no wait. To join, go up to the Mlife desk and sign up for a free card that tracks your spending on dining, gambling, merchandise, hotel rooms, and shows at all Mlife properties. You earn points for comps such as food and free play on slot machines, not to mention cutting in line at the buffet.

We usually find 2 for 1 buffet coupons at MyVegas rewards. MyVegas is an online game where you play free slot machines to collect loyalty points. These points can purchase actual rewards such as free food, drinks, or desserts at a bar or restaurant in Vegas, free companion ticket to a Vegas show, a percentage off a Royal Caribbean cruise, and so on. These coupons come in handy since Las Vegas buffets can be pricey.

Cravings recently underwent a minor renovation. The back wall used to house crab legs and other seafood options in an unappealing display that most people simply walked past without even stopping. It has now been replaced with a much more attractive serving area with foods that are more appealing. In addition, there is a fun Coca-Cola machine that allows you to make any kind of drink you want. Not having to wait for your server to bring you a refill is an improvement.

My husband loves the salad bar. There are so many options and an attendant makes the salad for you exactly how you specify.

 I love all the Asian selections the buffet offers. Everything is always fresh and flavorful.

 Every time we visit, this is what I love to eat and thankfully, none of it aggravates my IBS.

The dessert bar has enough options to satisfy any sweet tooth. Adjacent to the dessert area, hidden so that you can’t even see it, is a little area with excellent gelato. Most people don’t know it’s there.

Classic buffet fare such as carved meat, pizza, fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, Mexican style foods, fresh fruit, and seafood are always offered and are satisfying.

 Cravings is our favorite buffet and we always look forward to stopping in when we are in Las Vegas. We highly recommend it.
